we're moving!

well it seems that marlito and i are going to be home owners. what started as a curious tour of a downtown loft that was for sale has now become a done deal. we picked up a little place in the Kaufman building in downtown Kitchener. it is currently under construction so i can't show you any finished pics. in fact we won't be moving in until next spring. but i did get a tour of the place and took a few "before" pics so we can compare them in a year. check out the website at

we will be picking the interiour details sometime around mid june/july so i can fill you all in on that then. enjoy the pics. later.

the place!

so that wall that is all boarded up will be just windows. floor to ceiling windows. 12 foot ceiling by the way. i just love sunlight so that will be fun (though maybe annoying on a hot day or early in the morning). you can see the marker for the interior wall between our place and the next loft on the ceiling. the strip of metal will be used to attach the wall.
this will be basically the view as you come down the hall from the elevator. straight ahead will be a stairwell and the door into the loft will be between those two pillars on the right.

so this is what our view further to the right will be. the pillar on the left will actually be within the walk in closet and the open space will be the wall of our bedroom with a window off to the right.







the pillar on the right will be within the wall. i am super psyched about the high ceilings and big windows. just look at where that huge set of windows will be. HUGE!

a better look at what our view will look like. keep in mind that there will be a stairwell to the right of that pillar. we have a great vantage point to spot the sales at The End of the Roll.

as well, an exterior shot of the building under construction. we are on the third floor on the left. there will be another floor added to the top to make a grand total of 6. we can just go up the stairs outside our loft and go up to the rooftop patio/bbq area. very cool
