Adventures at the Dog Park (and Bru the Jerk)
a little while back a bunch of us took a trip to the dog park. 8 people and 3 dogs (Bru, Mavis and Casey) met up for a nice little walk in the sunshine. Marlito and i love going to the dog park and it is an extra special excursion if you get to go with Bru. Bru is such a character at the dog park. all the other dogs are nice and quiet, polite to each other and just enjoy the social aspect of the environment. but not Bru. all he knows how to do is be a big jerk around other dogs. he runs around barking at everyone, chasing the other dogs, and generally harassing everyone there. his favourite thing is to run full speed across the park, charge right up into the face of another dog and bark as loud as he can. then, if he gets no reaction he simply moves on to the next victim. and he continues to do this until he is totally pooped out and has thoroughly annoyed everyone at the park.
that is until a new dog comes in. then the excitement starts all over again!
now i find this all to be very hilarious, but it is apparent that his owners sometimes find it annoying and embarrassing. i think it just adds to his quirkiness and unique dog personality. the only thing that i can never believe is that none of the other dogs bark at the park. there can be over 20 dogs and the only one barking is Bru. it boggles the mind (though it does make it easy to locate Bru if you can’t see him) and defies logic all at the same time.
i happened to snap a few pics while we were there.
here is Bru in action!

Oh Bru-dog. What on earth will I do without you and your Bru-tricks!
And, I agree, it's so weird to be in a dog park with no barking dogs...I thought dogs just liked to bark all the time...clearly my dog was an exception to the rule.

Dear sweet Bru! I can't wait until he gets his own blog so we can all revel in his amazingness.

Oh come on, you silly Bru impersonator. I'm more insightful than that...
The dog park here isn't so hot. It's plenty big, but there's never more than one or two other dogs there. It's like dog park in the arctic. And the dogs that do show up don't understand that I'm the boss and they should do what I say. Wusses. And the people sit on picnic tables. I wish they'd walk around in groups so I could run along and barrel into them.
